ABOUT THYRONEWS:
Dr Haitham SHARARA
Hospital practitioner at the University Hospital of NIMES
Medical imaging service
Diagnostic and therapeutic unit in thyroidology
Place of Professor Robert Debré
30029 NIMES
I have been working at the University Hospital of Nîmes since May 1990, my activity has gradually been directed over time towards the diagnosis and radio-interventional treatment of thyroid pathologies.
The exploration and treatment of thyroid pathology represents 70 -75% of my activity.

Since 1992:
4000 – 4300 thyroids per year are subject to mon ultrasound expertise, i.e. on average between 12 and 15 examinations per working day.
Between 900 and 1000 punctures per year, i.e. on average 20 punctures per week.

Since 2019:
Between 45 and 50 radiofrequency thermoablations performed by year, i.e. one intervention per week

Currently the activity is on the rise and a new niche_cc781905-5cde-3153-bb_bad6 has just opened to respond to the growing demand for thermoablation and more recently the creation of a new activity concerning the chemical ablation of nodules by 96% ethanol alcoholization of cystic nodules and hot nodules.
Other diagnostic and therapeutic activities will open soon.
